Lunches

Our new catering company, Aspens, introduced their fabulous new menu in September 2023. Please take a look at the new three-week rolling menu below. Please also find below the forms to complete if your child has specific allergies or dietary requirements, as this will need be completed to send to the new catering company.

We hope all children will have a hot or cold school lunch this year due to the Mayor of London offering FREE school meals for all primary pupils but if they prefer, they can still bring their own packed lunch. We have our own school kitchen and the school meals are cooked on site every day. The menu is planned for three weeks in advance and is written up each day. There is a choice of hot and cold food, with a daily salad and fruit bar. The selection caters for a range of dietary preferences and needs.

If you would like your child to have a school meal, please speak to the Office and they will give you all the information you need.

If your child has a packed lunch, please provide a clearly labelled lunch box and put the drink in a plastic container (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks). We are committed to healthy eating and encourage our parents and children to consider healthy options when packing a lunch. Please note that we are a nut-free school.

Free School Meals for ALL 2023-24

This year 2023-2024, the Mayor of London has made all primary school children eligible for a free school meal.

All you need to do is complete a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) form available from the school office.  We encourage all children to participate in free school meals as those provided by the Local Authority adhere to a strictly balanced Healthy Eating menu. This also saves you the job of preparing a packed lunch for your child every day. The children enjoy the dining hall experience with their friends and often ‘picky eaters’ really improve their eating habits when dining with their friends and choosing their own food. The offer of free school meals for all primary children may only be for this one academic year so why not take advantage of this!

Please note that we will ask parents to provide a packed lunch for their child when the children are off site (e.g. a school trip) over the lunchtime. If you are eligible for Pupil Premium (not the UIFSM) then we will offer a pre-made packed lunch from the school kitchen.

If you have a child in Year 3, 4, 5 or 6, and you are receiving Income based Job Seekers Allowance or Income Support from the D.S.S., your children are entitled to free school meals, so please ask for a form from the school office or the Education Department. If you are on Income Support, please register your children for a free school meal, even if you wish to provide your own.

If you are not receiving benefits, you may still have the right to free school meals and should apply to the Education Department or ask at school. All enquiries are strictly confidential.

Please click here to check your eligibility (there is a guide at the bottom of the page to help you too). It’s quick and easy but in case you get stuck, the pdf below gives step by step instructions of how to apply. All you will require is your; name, date of birth and National Insurance number.
